Record and correct a workday in WORKPAY
Enter clock times, unpaid breaks, travel and allowances, then correct a forgotten timer without duplicating hours.
Choose the correct date and entry method
Open History, use the week arrows to find the right week and select the day. Add an unrecorded day using “Work times”. Start and finish use Finland time. Type two hour digits followed by the minute digits; the colon appears automatically, so 0730 becomes 07:30. Check the completed time before saving.
Use clock times to identify night hours. “Hours only” accepts durations, such as 7:30 or 7.5 for seven hours and 30 minutes, but cannot identify night work. Do not enter 7.30 as a decimal when you mean seven hours and 30 minutes: it means seven hours 18 minutes.
Example: 07:00–15:00 with an unpaid break
Select “Same day”, enter 07:00 and 15:00, then add an unpaid break from 11:30 to 12:00. The span is eight hours but worked time is seven hours 30 minutes. At an example €18 hourly rate, those regular hours produce €135 before other components. The app uses your classification; it does not decide whether the break should be paid.
Keep a paid break in paid working time rather than adding it as unpaid. Enter unpaid breaks at their actual times, in chronological order. This matters when a break overlaps night or Sunday hours. The app rejects overlapping intervals and future finish times; check existing entries if saving reports a conflict.
Keep travel and päiväraha separate
If you also travelled for an hour, enter 1:00 in “Travel time” and check the day’s travel rate. Do not combine 7:30 of work and 1:00 of travel as 8:30 of work; it changes overtime. Whether a journey belongs in work or travel depends on the applicable arrangement. Use the separate fields once that distinction is established.
Enter päiväraha in euros separately from hours and travel pay. Choose its payroll treatment only when known. Otherwise leave “Not sure” and ask payroll. An unconfirmed allowance appears separately and prevents a full net-week estimate until its treatment is confirmed. A saved amount does not establish tax exemption.
Correct a timer that ran too long
Finish an active session first. Open its start day in History, find the completed entry under “Shift times” and choose “Edit recorded times”. If work finished at 15:00 but the timer ran until 18:00, change that entry’s finish to 15:00 and save. Do not add another manual day with the correct hours while leaving the old record in place.
For a manually entered day, choose “Edit day” and correct times, breaks, travel or allowance. A day with timer records does not accept duplicate manual work or travel totals through the day form, although you can add an allowance. If another tab or device changed the record, reopen it and review its current contents before saving again.
Delete only what should not exist
Read the confirmation before deleting. Deleting a timer entry removes that interval’s hours and earnings. Deleting a manually saved day also removes its travel time and allowance. If only a finish time is wrong, editing preserves the other information. There is no restore button in the current day editor, so keep a copy of information you may need before confirming deletion.
Revisit the day and weekly total after saving. Check that the intended hours changed and unrelated entries remain. Check account sync status before changing devices. A previously sent email is a snapshot of the figures when prepared; compare it with corrected history rather than expecting the old message to change.
Try your own example times
The public shift checker shows elapsed time, subtracts an unpaid break and breaks down a simple gross-pay example. Your entries are not saved.
